Musical Instruments, Sound Equipment. 070(7)(a) prohibits operating or playing any musical instrument, radio, audio or video device, loudspeaker, public address system or sound-amplifying equipment within any City park or declared festival district in a manner that causes the sound to exceed 75 decibels, measured on the 70 dB scale at a distance of 15 feet from the source, unless a written permit has been issued by the Director. 070(7)(b) lets the Director or Police order the sound reduced if it unduly disturbs other park occupants or nearby residents, regardless of the permit or measured level.

070(7)(c). 237(G)(2) makes it a violation to broadcast sound from a radio, phonograph, loudspeaker or amplifier from the public streets for commercial advertising or to attract attention to a building when the sound is excessive under the chapter's criteria. 237(M)(6)).
