Bellflower, CA Noise Ordinances: Construction Hours (2026)

Construction hours in Bellflower are set in the city's adopted Building Code (Title 15, Chapter 15.04), Section 117 'Construction Hours of Operation.' Section 117.1 provides that no construction activities may commence in the City except as set forth in Table 117.1 or as otherwise approved by the Building Official. Table 117.1 'Construction Hours of Operations' permits work Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with Sundays and City holidays listed as 'Not Permitted.' 'Construction' is defined broadly to include site preparation, demolition, grading, excavation, and the erection, improvement, remodeling or repair of buildings or structures, including operation of equipment or machinery and delivery of materials associated with those activities. Note: Bellflower's noise chapter (Section 8.32.020(F)) separately ties 'other mechanical equipment' such as compressors, power washers and generators used for property maintenance to the construction hours in the Building Code, so those tools follow the same Table 117.1 schedule. The older text of Section 8.32.020 references 'Section 118 of the Bellflower Building Code,' which the adopted Building Code now carries as Section 117 'Construction Hours of Operation'; the substantive hours are the same.
