Bloomfield's Township Council code carries an older, narrower rule. Section 380-6(B)(11) lists the erection (including excavation), demolition, alteration or repair of any building other than between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on weekdays as a prohibited noise, except in urgent necessity for public health and safety with a permit from the Building Inspector, granted for not more than three days and renewable. Section 380-6(B)(14) bars pile drivers, steam shovels, pneumatic hammers and similar appliances between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Section 578-10 provides that when a Board of Health provision conflicts with another Township ordinance, the provision with the higher standard prevails. Separately, § 635-6(B)(1) limits power tools and landscaping equipment on weekdays to 8:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m., with owner and occupant use extended to 8:00 p.m.
Violations & Fines
Under § 635-7, a violation brings an enforcement document from the noise control officer, with a right to a hearing in municipal court.
