Macon-Bibb County, GA Noise Ordinances: Leaf Blower Rules (2026)

Section 22-53(b) of the Macon-Bibb County Code places the cleanup burden squarely on the person operating a mechanical leaf blower: they're responsible for collecting and disposing of any yard waste, grass clippings, leaves, sediment, trash, or other debris the device displaces, and they must do so in a manner permitted by law. The same subsection draws a specific line the operator can't cross: it is unlawful to use a leaf blower to blow any material into a street or into the storm drainage system. That prohibition sits inside the broader Section 22-53, which separately bars placing, storing, dumping, parking, or broadcasting junk, trash, leaves, or similar rubbish on public streets, sidewalks, alleys, or storm drains under subsection (a), so a leaf blower operator who pushes clippings into the gutter is violating the same street-and-drain ban that covers dumping generally.
