Bellaire enforces detailed quiet hours under its noise ordinance adopted in 2023. Quiet hours run Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM (11:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Fridays, Saturdays, and the night before city holidays). During quiet hours, maximum noise is 60 dB in residential zones and 67 dB in nonresidential zones. During non-quiet hours, limits are 75 dB residential and 80 dB nonresidential.
Bellaire's noise ordinance establishes specific decibel thresholds measured at the property line of the receiving property. During quiet hours, all noise above the maximum decibel level is prohibited, and dumpster service, construction activities, and lawn care are prohibited regardless of noise levels. During non-quiet hours, those activities are permitted as long as they stay under the decibel caps.
