Edinburg Code Ch. 95 prohibits disturbing noise. Quiet hours: 9 PMβ9 AM from public streets; 11 PMβ9 AM from private property. Noise at 100+ feet measuring 65 dB or more is a violation during restricted hours.
Under Edinburg Code Chapter 95 (Nuisances), it is unlawful to produce noise near public streets or private dwellings calculated to disturb the peace. Violations occur when noise is produced between 9:00 PM and 9:00 AM (from public streets) or 11:00 PM and 9:00 AM (from private property). A noise measuring 65 dB or more at 100+ feet from the source during restricted hours is a violation. Landlords can be held responsible for tenant noise. The ordinance was updated in 2024 (Ordinance No. 2024-4999) to add vibration as a violation category.
Quiet-hours violations are infractions with fines of $100 for a first offense, $250 for a second offense within 12 months, and up to $500 for subsequent offenses. Repeat violations may result in misdemeanor charges.
