Section 359-11 of Chapter 359, Vehicles, Traffic and Transportation, targets heavy trucks and trailers on county roads. "' Subsection B requires the county to mark that designation with a sign on a post that is clearly visible from the road, or through 'such other manner as may provide sufficient notice of said parking restrictions,' so an undesignated residential street is not automatically off-limits to heavy vehicles. Subsection C gives any law enforcement officer who finds a violation the authority to cite the driver directly, or attach the citation to an unattended truck or trailer, and then have it towed at the owner's expense; the officer must keep a signed copy of the citation attesting to the facts under penalty of perjury.

Because the threshold is set at gross vehicle weight rather than by vehicle type, the restriction reaches large pickups, box trucks, and enclosed or open trailers once they cross 8,000 pounds GVW, not only tractor-trailers. The rule sits inside the same Article III, General Restrictions, that also carries the county's time-limited parking rule in § 359-10, and both provisions share the same enforcement mechanism and penalty structure.
