Contra Costa County, CA Parking Rules: Commercial Vehicle Restrictions (2026)

Research of Contra Costa County Ordinance Code Title 4, Division 46 (Traffic Regulations) and Title 8 zoning provisions did not identify a county-wide ordinance that specifically restricts overnight or residential-area parking of commercial vehicles in unincorporated areas. The general on-street parking limit of 72 consecutive hours under Sec. 46-4.004 applies to commercial vehicles parked on county roads. California Vehicle Code Section 22507 authorizes local agencies to restrict commercial-vehicle parking by signed ordinance, but in unincorporated Contra Costa County such restrictions, where they exist, are typically posted on a street-by-street basis rather than imposed county-wide. Abandoned commercial vehicles are subject to Division 430 (Abandoned Vehicles).
