Full Breakdown

, or from being stored long-term on residential driveways. Tractor-trailer combinations, flatbeds, dump trucks, construction equipment trailers, and tow trucks generally fall within this restriction. Work vans and pickup trucks under 10,000 lbs GVWR with business lettering are typically not considered 'commercial vehicles' for parking purposes and may be parked at home subject to normal residential rules. Exceptions exist for active service calls (a plumber's van parked while completing work), active loading or unloading (up to the time reasonably required), and moving trucks during a household move (typically up to 72 hours).

Commercial vehicles engaged in construction on a job site may park on-site during active permitted work. On-street parking of commercial vehicles in commercial and industrial zones is generally permitted subject to the 72-hour rule and any posted restrictions. Violations result in citations and potential towing, particularly for repeat offenders.
