Brentwood's municipal code, consistent with California Vehicle Code §22507.5 as locally enforced, prohibits commercial vehicles over 10,000 lbs GVWR from parking on any public street in a residential zone between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m., or from being stored long-term on residential driveways. Tractor-trailer combinations, flatbeds, dump trucks, construction equipment trailers, and tow trucks generally fall within this restriction. Work vans and pickup trucks under 10,000 lbs GVWR with business lettering are typically not considered 'commercial vehicles' for parking purposes and may be parked at home subject to normal residential rules. Exceptions exist for active service calls (a plumber's van parked while completing work), active loading or unloading (up to the time reasonably required), and moving trucks during a household move (typically up to 72 hours). Commercial vehicles engaged in construction on a job site may park on-site during active permitted work.
