46(C), titled "Other vehicles," governs all residential zoning districts, apart from the recreational-vehicle rules in subsection (A) and the public-service-vehicle permit track in subsection (B). Under paragraph (C)(1), any vehicle may be parked inside an enclosed structure that meets the district's dimensional requirements. Paragraph (C)(2) then draws a hard line at 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, using the manufacturer's capacity rating: anything heavier cannot be parked outside an enclosed structure in a residential district, with no weight-based permit or variance built into the subsection. That threshold captures many box trucks, dump trucks, tractor units and similar commercial rigs that homeowners or contractors might otherwise park in a driveway overnight.

Paragraph (C)(3) adds a separate rule for advertising: any vehicle carrying a "vehicle sign" as defined in LDC article II must be stored in an enclosed building or positioned so the sign cannot be seen from the street, regardless of the vehicle's weight. Owners who need to keep an oversized commercial vehicle near a job site rather than a home should look to the public-service-vehicle permit process in subsection (B), which applies only in non-residential districts and requires review by police, public works and planning staff before a permit issues.
