Georgetown Code Section 10.16.080.A prohibits parking commercial vehicles, truck tractors, road tractors, semi-trailers, buses and special mobile equipment on any street or right-of-way within a residential district, or within 300 feet of a residence in a residential district.
The City of Georgetown Code of Ordinances Section 10.16.080.A makes it a violation to park or leave standing a commercial vehicle, truck tractor, road tractor, trailer, semi-trailer, pole trailer, utility trailer, house trailer, travel trailer, camper trailer, boat trailer, motor home, bus, or special mobile equipment on any street or right-of-way within a residential district or within 300 feet of the property line of a residence located in a residential district. This keeps work trucks, tractor-trailers and buses off neighborhood streets near homes. The same chapter (Section 10.16.080.C.1) also prohibits parking a vehicle on public or private property for the purpose of displaying it for sale unless the owner operates an authorized auto sales, rental or repair business at that location, which limits commercial display use of curb space. Off-street loading and parking for commercial properties is governed separately by the city's Unified Development Code, Chapter 9 (Off-Street Parking and Loading). Enforcement is handled by Code Compliance through askGTX, with complaints filed in Municipal Court if the violation is not corrected.
Code Compliance can file a complaint in Georgetown Municipal Court requiring the responsible party to appear. Officers typically allow first-time offenders time to relocate the vehicle before pursuing court action. Report violations through askGTX.
