Pearland prohibits any vehicle, including commercial trucks, from remaining parked on a city street for more than 72 continuous hours, and enforces posted weight limits on designated streets.
Pearland Code of Ordinances Chapter 29, Section 29-18 makes it unlawful for the owner or operator of any vehicle to allow that vehicle to remain standing or parked on any street, alley, avenue, or public way within the city for more than seventy-two (72) hours continuously. Chapter 29 also forbids operating a vehicle that exceeds posted weight limits or allowable axles on city streets where a weight-limit sign has been posted. Texas Transportation Code Section 545.307 additionally allows residents to petition the city to post signs prohibiting overnight parking of commercial motor vehicles in residential subdivisions and within 1,000 feet of homes, schools, churches, or parks.
Leaving a commercial vehicle on a Pearland street beyond 72 hours, exceeding posted weight limits, or violating a signed overnight commercial parking restriction can lead to citations, towing, and fines.
