Pearland Code Section 29-18 limits any vehicle to 72 continuous hours on a city street, which is the principal overnight parking constraint. Beyond that, Texas Transportation Code Section 545.307 lets residents of a residential subdivision petition the city to post signs prohibiting overnight parking of commercial motor vehicles within 1,000 feet of a residence, school, place of worship, or park. Once Pearland posts signs in response to a valid petition, overnight commercial truck parking in that area becomes a citable offense. RVs, boats, and travel trailers parked on public thoroughfares in residential zones are separately prohibited under the Unified Development Code.
