Pearland's Unified Development Code limits where recreational vehicles, travel trailers, boats, and boat trailers can be stored on residential property, capping vehicle length and requiring screening from neighbors.
Under Pearland's Unified Development Code (UDC), Chapter 2, Article 4, no recreational vehicle, travel trailer, boat, or boat trailer over 36 feet long may be stored or parked in any residential zoning district. RVs and boats may not park on a public thoroughfare in residential zones. On a residential lot, an RV or boat parked for more than 72 hours must sit at least eight feet from any adjacent property line and be screened by a compliant fence or evergreen landscaping equal to the screened item's height. Short-term parking up to 72 hours for loading, cleaning, trip prep, winterizing, or moving to off-premise storage is allowed.
Storing an oversized RV or boat in a residential zone, parking on a residential street, or failing to maintain required setbacks and screening can lead to code enforcement citations and abatement orders.
