Sandy Springs, GA Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

City Code Sec. 58-39 targets three separate situations. First, no commercial vehicle or trailer, whether commercial or privately owned, may park on the right-of-way of a residential street unless it is actively making a delivery to residential property; the rule doesn't apply to vehicles, trailers or equipment temporarily on site for construction or repair of dwellings or utilities within a construction area, but any parking that is allowed must still comply with every other city parking rule. Second, on nonresidential public streets or highways, no one may park or stand a bus, truck or other freight-carrying vehicle with a gross vehicle weight over 12,500 pounds for more than one hour at any time, day or night.

Third, any vehicle with a body wider than eight feet or taller than ten feet cannot stop or stand on any street or public place, except where loading or unloading is permitted, unless the driver or chauffeur is physically present and in charge of it.
