Waynesville, MO Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Section 335.060, titled 'Special Parking Restrictions; As Regards, Cabs, Buses and Trucks,' is the Municipal Code's dedicated commercial-vehicle parking rule. Its general, citywide clause covers every street and alley not already singled out elsewhere in the section: a bus or truck may not park there for more than two (2) hours at a time, day or night, and once that two-hour window runs out, the owner cannot simply move the vehicle to a different spot on the same street or alley to reset the clock.

The exception built into the section keeps ordinary pickup trucks and small trucks used as a family vehicle or for light cargo outside the two-hour cap, so the restriction targets larger commercial trucks and buses rather than everyday personal pickups. The same section, in the paragraphs immediately before this general rule, separately bans cabs and buses carrying passengers for hire from parking along Historic 66 East and the streets around the Public Square except while actually picking up or dropping off passengers, and bars trucks and buses from parking on Benton Street and Lynn Street between North Street and School Street outside of specific carve-outs for church services and utility work.

Section 335.060 also requires that a parked bus or truck's motor be shut off unless it is receiving or discharging passengers or loading and unloading cargo. The Waynesville Police Department enforces the section, and because it sets no fine of its own, a citation runs through § 340.020's parking-ticket process and, if unpaid, the current Uniform Fine Schedule for Municipal Offenses in Waynesville Municipal Court.
