Waynesville, MO Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 335.010, 'Stopping, Standing or Parking Prohibited,' opens Chapter 335 of the Waynesville Municipal Code and lists the specific places where a vehicle may not stop, stand or park within the city: on a sidewalk; in front of a public or private driveway; within an intersection; within ten feet of a fire hydrant; on a crosswalk; within 15 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection or wherever signs designate; within 40 feet of the approach to a flashing beacon, stop sign or traffic signal; within 20 feet of a fire station driveway and within 75 feet of the entrance on the opposite side when posted; alongside a street excavation that would obstruct traffic; on the roadway side of a vehicle already parked at the curb (double-parking); on a bridge, elevated structure or in a highway tunnel; anywhere official signs prohibit it; within ten feet of a rural mailbox; and within ten feet of an intersection's curb lines.

The exceptions built into the section cover a vehicle stopping only to avoid conflicting with other traffic or complying with a police officer's direction or a traffic control device. The section closes with a separate rule against moving someone else's vehicle into a prohibited spot or away from a curb an unlawful distance. The Waynesville Police Department enforces the chapter and, under § 340.020, issues a parking ticket or uniform traffic citation that carries a $25.00 parking violation fee if paid within 30 days; an unpaid ticket is filed as an information in Waynesville Municipal Court, where the fine follows the city's current Uniform Fine Schedule for Municipal Offenses.
