Full Breakdown

Nampa City Code § 10-22-5.F requires every area where vehicles travel, park, or are stored to be paved with asphalt or concrete, in any zoning district. The only residential exception is a secondary or auxiliary driveway, which may be gravel, pavers, or an equivalent surface for its full length. Screened commercial/industrial exterior storage or vehicle-access areas get the same gravel option. Subsection F.4 separately makes it unlawful to park vehicles on grass in residential zones off a driveway or parking pad, and bars grass parking in other zones too, aside from limited protrusions the planning director may allow for auto-sales display pads in commercial or industrial zones.

Violations & Fines

Enforced by the Nampa Planning and Zoning Department; unpaved primary driveways or grass parking are code violations subject to the city's standard municipal citation and abatement process.
