Temple, TX Parking Rules: Driveway Rules (2026)

City code lists parking, or letting others park, in the yard, grass, or on any other unimproved parking surface as a declared nuisance unless the area is screened from public view in compliance with the Unified Development Code. Separately, the UDC's off-street parking design standards require that all parking areas, required and optional, be paved with asphalt or concrete and maintained, with a paved driveway connecting the space to the street or alley. Together these provisions push vehicle parking onto a hard surface rather than bare dirt or grass in the front yard.
