In the City of Pensacola, passenger curb loading zones may be used only for loading or unloading passengers, up to five minutes. Freight curb loading zones are for delivery and pickup of materials, up to 30 minutes. Business-district alleys allow loading up to 20 minutes.
Pensacola Code § 11-2-28 limits a passenger curb loading zone to the expeditious loading or unloading of passengers for no more than five minutes during posted hours. Section 11-2-29 limits a freight curb loading zone to unloading, delivery, pickup and loading of materials for no more than 30 minutes. In business-district alleys, § 11-2-27 permits stopping only for loading or unloading and no longer than 20 minutes, and bars blocking a driveway. Escambia County's traffic code does not create general loading zones for the unincorporated county; loading follows the county's tow-away-zone and weight rules.
Overstaying or misusing a Pensacola loading zone is a parking violation subject to city parking fines, and an obstructing vehicle may be ticketed and towed.
