St. Lucie County, FL Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

There is no general citywide or countywide ordinance banning overnight residential street parking in St. Lucie County. A legally parked vehicle may usually remain overnight, subject to Section 72.01's specific prohibitions. Port St. Lucie's Section 72.01(i) makes it unlawful to stand or park a vehicle on any public right-of-way, or on unimproved property, for the principal purpose of abandonment for more than 24 hours, and parking in a residential swale without the owner's consent is prohibited. Inoperative vehicles cannot be stored outside under the property maintenance code. HOA and community covenants frequently impose their own overnight and guest-parking limits, so check them alongside any posted street signs.
