Pueblo, CO Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

Pueblo Municipal Code § 15-1-9 is the overnight street parking rule in Pueblo, Colorado, and it targets specific vehicles rather than every car. Subsection (a) applies to any vehicle carrying or designed to carry a load of one ton or more, and to any trailer or semitrailer whatsoever. Such a vehicle may not stay on a street in a residential district for longer than thirty (30) minutes between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The window is fixed in the ordinance, so no posted sign is needed to trigger it. The rule covers residential districts only, so the same truck parked on a commercial street is not touched by this subsection.

Subsection (b) makes it unlawful to park or cause to be parked an unlicensed vehicle on any public property, including any portion of a street or highway right-of-way. Subsection (d) defines an unlicensed vehicle as one that does not display license plates of the registration period to which they pertain. That covers a vehicle with no plates and a vehicle with expired plates. Subsection (c) sets the removal clock: an unlicensed vehicle left on public property for longer than seventy-two (72) hours shall be removed and sold under the procedures in Sections 1801 and 1802 of the Model Traffic Code.

A separate section covers recreational vehicles. Under § 15-1-11(b), major recreational equipment, including boats, boat trailers, travel trailers, and pickup campers, may not be parked on any street for more than twenty-four (24) hours in any seven-day period. That time is cumulative, need not be consecutive, and counts even if the vehicle is moved from one location to another. Section 15-1-11(a) bars standing or parking such equipment on a residential street other than for loading or unloading.
