Drivers are bound by what the sign actually says. The general 72-hour storage rule under VMC 10.16.050 still applies overnight on residential streets. Downtown city-owned lots and the two parking structures (222 W. Acequia and the Acequia/Bridge structure) are operated under separate rules and the W. Acequia Reserved Parking Permit program (VMC Sec. 10.16.145; Ord. No. 2000-10), and overnight use of those facilities is governed by posted signage.
Parking in a posted 'no overnight parking' zone during the posted hours is a citable parking violation enforced by the Visalia Police Department. Repeat or unpaid citations can be paid online at visaliaca.rmcpay.com. Cars left overnight in unauthorized downtown lots may also be towed.
