Full Breakdown

Penn Hills' Zoning Code § 1260.07(b) defines "Accessory Use or Structure (Residential)" to include a boat, camper, recreation vehicle, or utility trailer, but only when parked in a rear yard, side yard, or garage. The same definition permits one garaged commercial vehicle under 11,000 pounds GVWR per lot and non-running vehicles for up to 30 days, showing the Municipality regulates yard-stored vehicles as an accessory use across every residential lot in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Violations & Fines

Storing a boat, camper, RV, or trailer in a front yard exceeds the accessory-use definition in § 1260.07 and is a Zoning Code violation Code Enforcement can cite and order corrected.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I park my camper in my Penn Hills driveway?
Only if it's in a side yard, rear yard, or garage; § 1260.07 defines boats, campers, RVs, and utility trailers as accessory uses limited to those locations, not the front yard.
Are there separate size or duration limits for RV parking?
The definitions section sets no size or day limit for a parked RV, boat, or trailer: only the yard location is restricted, unlike the 30-day cap on non-running vehicles in the same list.
