Pittsburgh, PA Parking Rules: RV & Boat Parking (2026)

Pittsburgh Code § 541.04A(G) puts the duty on the operator. No operator of a commercial vehicle, a camper, a trailer unconnected to a vehicle, or a boat may permit it to park on any street for longer than two (2) hours between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. The phrase any street makes this a citywide rule. It is not tied to a particular neighborhood or zoning district.

The limit works as a cap inside the overnight window. A covered vehicle may be on the street during those hours, but not for longer than two hours of them. Outside the 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. window, subsection (G) sets no time limit of its own.

The wording on trailers matters. The section names a trailer unconnected to a vehicle, so its target is the trailer left standing by itself at the curb. Commercial vehicles, campers, and boats are named separately, without that qualifier.

Oversized vehicles are carved out of subsection (G). The section says it does not apply to them because they are prohibited from parking in residential zoning districts as set forth in Section 541.04(H). An owner of an oversized vehicle should read that subsection and should not rely on the two-hour allowance.

Subsection (G) regulates street parking only. It does not restrict keeping a camper, trailer, or boat on a private driveway or in a residential yard. Wheelchair-accessible vans are exempt.
