RMC 6-2-4 allows RV and boat storage in enclosed spaces, carports, or behind a 5-foot fence. Driveway parking requires setbacks and screening; 72-hour yard limit applies.
Under Reedley Municipal Code Section 6-2-4, recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers stored on residential property must comply with specific placement rules. In residential zone districts, any vehicle may be parked or stored in a properly permitted and entirely enclosed space or carport, in a rear or side yard enclosed by not less than a 5-foot solid fence or wall, or on a front-yard improved driveway no closer than 3 feet from any garage door opening and no closer than 5 feet from the side yard property line with screening by shrubs or trees along the property line. No vehicle, including RVs and boats, may remain on front yards, side yards, back yards, or parking strips for more than a continuous period of 72 hours. Parking and storage within a 10-foot area adjacent to and behind the curb is prohibited. No more than two disabled or unregistered vehicles may be stored in any rear yard, and only one may be stored in a front yard. Vehicle repair between 10 PM and 7 AM is prohibited if it creates a nuisance.
Violations of RMC 6-2-4 are handled through code enforcement with administrative citations. Fines typically start at $100 for first offenses and escalate for repeat violations. Vehicles may be subject to tow or abatement if not brought into compliance.
