Chapter 28 of the Denton Code of Ordinances governs on-street parking. Parking on the wrong side of the street (facing oncoming traffic) is prohibited per Texas Transportation Code 545.305. The city operates the Park Denton program offering free garage parking in the downtown area. Street sweeping schedules may impose temporary no-parking periods with posted signage.
Parking ticket: $25-$50 depending on violation type. Hydrant/crosswalk violation: $50. Towing after 72 hours: at owner expense.
