Lewisville, TX Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

City Code Sec. 5 lists nine specific places where stopping, standing or parking a registered motor vehicle or trailer is unlawful: on a sidewalk; within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection; on a railroad track; in front of or within 25 feet of a private driveway (except directly in front of residential driveways) or private-gated street and public street or alley intersections; within 15 feet of a fire hydrant; within 200 feet on the approach to a flashing or traffic-control signal at an intersection; within a right-turn deceleration lane, including its taper; within 25 feet of a fire station driveway entrance; and anywhere an official sign prohibits parking.

Notably, the driveway-proximity ban carves out an exception for residential driveways directly in front of the parked vehicle, so a car parked immediately in front of a house's own driveway is not automatically in violation of this particular 25-foot rule, though other city or state rules on blocking access still apply. Sec. 15-126 separately bans stopping, standing or parking on a long list of named streets wherever signs or pavement markings designate no-parking zones, and Sec. 15-129 caps parking on any street at 48 hours.

Under Sec. 15-102, any vehicle situated in violation of this parking division is declared a nuisance and is subject to impoundment, and it cannot be reclaimed until the owner proves ownership and pays the towing fee and storage costs.
