Satellite Beach, FL Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Sec. 34-32 of the Satellite Beach City Code lists the places a vehicle cannot stop, stand or park absent an emergency, law compliance, or a police or parking-enforcement officer's direction. Among the prohibited spots: in front of a public or private driveway or occupied parking space, within an intersection or crosswalk, on a bridge or elevated structure, in a posted fire lane, or anywhere official signs prohibit stopping. Sec. 34-33 separately governs how a legally parked vehicle must sit: on a two-way street, the right-hand wheels must be parallel to and within 12 inches of the right-hand curb or edge of the roadway; on a one-way street, the vehicle must park on the right side in the direction of authorized traffic unless signs say otherwise, again within 12 inches of the curb.

That requirement effectively bars parking against the flow of traffic, since a vehicle facing the wrong way would have its right-hand wheels on the wrong side of the road. A police officer or parking enforcement specialist who finds a violation can issue a ticket to the driver or attach it to an unattended vehicle under Sec. 34-32(c). Sec. 34-34 sets the penalty schedule and Sec. 34-36 through 34-38 govern how citations are processed, contested before the city's special magistrate or a county judge, and how owner liability attaches when someone else was driving.
