Satellite Beach, FL Parking Rules: Commercial & Oversized Vehicles (2026)

Sec. 30-615(a) draws a hard line for commercial vehicles in Satellite Beach's residential zoning districts: it is unlawful to park or store one there at any time. The Code carves out a single, narrow exception, a commercial vehicle may sit for up to eight hours while it is actually loading or unloading, or while it is performing construction, transportation or another service at the residential property where it is parked. Once that service window ends, the vehicle has to leave; there is no overnight or long-term storage allowance for work trucks, trailers used for hauling equipment, or similar commercial vehicles anywhere in a residential district.

Subsection (c) closes off any workaround: the city allows no variance from this section at all, so a property owner cannot petition for relief from the eight-hour limit. The restriction sits alongside the separate residential recreational vehicle rules in the same section, so a resident needs to know which category, commercial or recreational, a given vehicle falls into before parking it on residential property. Community Development and the Satellite Beach Police Department both have authority to cite a vehicle left beyond the eight-hour window, and the restriction applies regardless of whether the vehicle sits in a driveway, side yard or on the street in front of the home.
