Satellite Beach, FL Parking Rules: Driveway Rules (2026)

Section 30-536(a) requires that at least one driveway connecting to the required garage or parking space be built of concrete, asphalt, interlocking paver blocks, or similar hard material, at a minimum width of ten feet for a one-car garage and 16 feet for a two-car garage. " Hard-surface driveways of concrete, asphalt, or interlocking pavers must sit at least two feet back from the side and rear property lines and stay clear of any recorded easement. A driveway that extends into the street right-of-way must also comply with the separate right-of-way driveway standards in Section 30-537, which set spacing and width rules, no driveway within two feet of a projected side property line or 25 feet of an intersection for single-family and duplex lots, and a 36-foot cap on the combined width of all driveways on those lots.

Patios and decks built alongside a driveway follow their own setbacks under Section 30-536(b): out of the front-yard setback, at least two feet from the side and rear lines, and at least ten feet from any canal shoreline or bulkhead if built of concrete. Community Development and the building official administer driveway permits and inspect for compliance with the width, material, and setback standards.
