Youngstown, OH Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Youngstown Codified Ordinances Section 351.03, Prohibited Standing or Parking Places, bars stopping or parking except when necessary to avoid a traffic conflict, to comply with the Traffic Code, or while obeying a police officer or traffic control device, in a long list of locations: on a sidewalk (except a bicycle), in front of a public or private driveway including service station entrances, within an intersection, within ten feet of a fire hydrant, on a crosswalk, within twenty feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, within thirty feet of a flashing beacon or stop sign, within fifty feet of a railroad crossing, within twenty feet of a fire station driveway (seventy-five feet on the opposite side when posted), alongside a street excavation, alongside another parked vehicle, on a bridge or in a tunnel, wherever signs prohibit it or the curb is painted yellow, within one foot of another parked vehicle, and on a freeway roadway.

It also bars parking within thirty feet of a theater or assembly hall entrance seating 300 or more, in metered zones where meters cannot practically be placed, on the devil strip (the land between curb and sidewalk) absent Council-approved designation, in a front or corner-lot side yard between the curb and the principal structure outside a permitted driveway, on fire lanes established under Chapter 1509 of the Fire Prevention Code, and on cement or brick pedestrian surfaces separated from the roadway by a curb. Wrong-way and prima-facie enforcement is separately addressed: Section 351.02 makes the registered owner prima-facie liable for an unlawfully parked vehicle bearing that owner's plate, based on Registrar of Motor Vehicles records.
