Cheyenne, WY Public Conduct: Jaywalking (2026)

Downtown, Cheyenne City Code 10.48.030 flatly forbids crossing a roadway anywhere except a marked crosswalk in the central business district: no mid-block dash allowed. Citywide, 10.48.020 requires pedestrians to cross at right angles to the curb or by the shortest route to the opposite curb unless a crosswalk or traffic-control device says otherwise, and 10.48.050 separately bans darting or running into the street from a curb or place of safety. Drivers must stop and yield to pedestrians in marked crosswalks under 10.48.010. Cheyenne police and the municipal court enforce these under Title 10's traffic-offense procedures.
