Violations & Fines
Section 24-11.6(g) makes a first violation an infraction punishable by a fine of up to $100.00, a second violation within one year up to $200.00, and a third or later violation within one year up to $500.00. The City Attorney may instead pursue a civil action carrying a fine of not less than $250.00 and not more than $1,000.00 per violation, and Section 24-11.6(i) lets a private citizen bring a civil enforcement action of their own.
