Maple Grove, MN Public Conduct: Public Urination (2026)

Maple Grove City Code § 20-229(16) lists urinating or defecating on public or private property, other than in facilities provided for such functions, among the nuisances specifically declared unlawful citywide in Hennepin County. The prohibition applies everywhere in the city, streets, parks, parking lots, and private lots alike, with no age or location carve-out. Under § 20-230, causing or maintaining any nuisance listed in this division, including this one, is a misdemeanor, and aiding or encouraging a violation is also punishable. The city's authorized representatives may inspect and enforce the nuisance provisions, and each instance is treated as its own violation.
