Hialeah, FL Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Section 58-10, titled 'Skateboards; prohibited in certain areas,' is a short, direct prohibition rather than a permit or hours-based scheme: skateboarding is unlawful on public sidewalks, parking lots, driveways and areas of pedestrian traffic located within any commercially zoned district in Hialeah. The section does not carve out exceptions for early mornings, off-peak hours or supervised use; the ban applies wherever the property sits within a commercial zoning district, regardless of time of day. The ordinance also makes clear it layers on top of other law: it 'shall be construed to prohibit skateboarding in areas prohibited by other laws, regulations, rules and ordinances of the city, county or state,' meaning any additional state, county or park-specific restriction still applies independently.
