Summary
Chapter 11.54 lets Pleasanton post signs closing public and quasi-public property to skateboards, roller skates and in-line skates, and outright bans them from tennis courts, park furniture and art, and construction sites. A. It is unlawful for any person to ride a skateboard, roller skate, in-line skate or any other similar nonmotorized device on public property, or on private property open to the public, where there has been posted in conspicuous places a sign (or signs) not less than 17 inches by 22 inches, with lettering not less than one-inch high, that states that skateboarding, or in-line skating, on the property is prohibited pursuant to this section. B. In those areas designated by subsection A of this section and in those areas designated in Section 11.54.020 of this chapter, it is unlawful to ride a skateboard or to in-line skate on any sidewalk, street, mall, parking lot, parking garage, park or other public place.
