Syracuse, NY Public Health Rules: Syringe Disposal (2026)

Section 14-18(b) of Syracuse's Revised General Ordinances gives sharps their own narrow disposal channel within the household waste collection system. Used syringes and other sharps must be placed in a container labeled 'SHARPS,' with the top taped shut, and set next to the regular household waste container for pickup. collection workers at risk.
