STR guests in Long Beach must comply with local parking regulations. Street parking is subject to posted restrictions and the 72-hour rule. Operators should provide parking information to guests.
Under LBMC Chapter 5.77, all STR operators must post a notice within the unit containing parking information for guests. No exterior signs may be posted on the STR premises to advertise the rental unit. Guests must comply with all standard City parking regulations including the 72-hour street parking limit, preferential parking district restrictions (LBMC Chapter 10.32), and the oversized vehicle parking prohibition (LBMC 10.24.078). In parking impacted areas, additional time-restricted parking zones may apply. STR operators should provide guests with information about available on-site parking and any neighborhood parking restrictions to minimize impacts on surrounding residents.
Parking violations are enforced through standard City parking enforcement. Parking tickets for exceeding the 72-hour limit or violating posted restrictions are $69. Nuisance violations related to parking at STR properties count toward the three-strike system for registration renewal.
