Sec. 12-229(a)(5) requires the owner to acknowledge, as a sworn part of the vacation rental permit application, several conditions of operation. Subsection a. states that all vehicles associated with the vacation rental must be parked on hard-surface off-street parking provided on the property, ruling out grass, unpaved yard areas, or on-street parking as compliant options for guest vehicles. Sec. 12-234, the article's operating standards, builds on that acknowledgment: item (4)b requires the owner to post, conspicuously within the unit, a sketch showing the location of the off-street parking spaces so vacation occupants know exactly where they may park.

Sec. 12-234(9) also folds in any other Code standard, including setbacks, that could affect where parking areas may sit on the lot. Because the parking rule is one of the sworn acknowledgments in the permit application, a false acknowledgment exposes the owner to a false-information violation under Sec. 12-232, in addition to a straightforward parking violation under Sec. 12-234. The responsible party the owner designates under Sec. 12-231 must inform vacation occupants in writing, before occupancy, of the city's vehicle-parking rules among other applicable ordinances, and must otherwise address any parking violations that come to their attention.

Enforcement runs through Sec. 12-238: the city manager, code enforcement board, or special magistrate may issue warnings, citations, and progressively larger fines under F.S. chapter 162 for continued off-street-parking violations.
