Sec. 12-230 authorizes the city to charge reasonable fees for a vacation rental permit to cover administrative expenses, but sets no dollar figure in the Code itself; the actual fee schedule, and any late-renewal fee, is adopted and amended by resolution of the city commission rather than by ordinance. Sec. 12-237 fixes the permit term at no more than one year, with every permit expiring on September 30 regardless of when during the year it was issued, so a permit obtained in the spring costs the same full annual fee as one obtained a month before expiration.

Sec. 12-235(c) adds a separate charge: if an inspector has a scheduled appointment with the responsible party to complete the required initial or annual inspection and the responsible party fails to admit the inspector at the scheduled time, the owner is charged a "no show" fee, in an amount set by city commission resolution, to cover the city's inspection expense. Sec. 12-238(f) makes clear these fees are non-refundable in part: an owner whose permit is suspended or revoked is not entitled to any refund of the annual fee for the unexpired portion of the permit term.
