Revere, MA Short-Term Rentals: Short-Term Rental Permits (2026)

Section 8.09.040 lays out the full registration procedure an operator must complete before advertising a Revere property for short-term rental. Under subsection A, the operator registers with the short-term rental enforcement office on its own form, supplying a name, address, and a phone number reachable twenty-four hours a day, plus proof of owner occupancy such as a Massachusetts ID, driver's license, vehicle registration, or voter registration card. The application must also describe the space being offered, document that the property carries no municipal liens and that city and state taxes and fees are current, include the Massachusetts Department of Revenue's Certificate of Registration for short-term rental required under M.G.L. ch.

Subsection B requires payment of an annual fee of three hundred dollars per short-term rental unit, on top of any excise tax and community impact fee due under § 8.09.070. Subsection C then requires the operator to request an inspection, which the short-term rental enforcement office must complete within twenty-one days of the paid, completed application; a unit that fails can be re-inspected free once, with a fifty-dollar fee for any further re-inspection after that. Subsection D bars a property from the short-term rental registry until every one of those requirements is satisfied and a certificate of inspection has actually been issued.
