Casa Grande, AZ Sidewalk & Pedestrian Rules: Obstruction Rules (2026)

Section 10.08.230 flatly prohibits parking any vehicle on a sidewalk in the City of Casa Grande, "whether in usable condition or not," and also bars an owner from permitting a vehicle to be parked there. There is no exception in the text for brief stops or deliveries, unlike the driveway and alley language in Section 10.08.200(B); the rule is an outright ban on sidewalk parking itself. Section 10.08.240 backs that up with an abandonment rule: any vehicle that remains parked on a sidewalk for more than three days, or a disabled vehicle left on a street for more than seven days, is declared an abandoned vehicle, and the Casa Grande Police Department must remove it from the sidewalk or street at the owner's expense.

Together the two sections give the city both an immediate parking prohibition and a short, three-day trigger for towing vehicles that block pedestrian right-of-way, faster than the seven-day standard used for disabled vehicles left on the roadway. As with other Chapter 10.08 parking violations, code enforcement officers may enforce Section 10.08.230 under Section 10.08.300 by seeking voluntary compliance, issuing a notice of violation, or filing a civil complaint, and Section 10.04.075 presumes the registered owner responsible.
