140 as a sign not constructed or intended for long-term use; it does not carve out a separate category the way it does for construction signs, real estate signs, or banners, so the general temporary-sign rules govern. 050(1)(a) and (b), no sign permit and no fee are required to install it. Subsection (1)(c) requires the sign to be built of materials durable enough to withstand rain and wind, kept in safe condition, and never electric, illuminated, moving, or animated. Subsection (1)(d) sets the removal clock: temporary signs pertaining to a specific event, which a garage sale is, must be removed within 10 days of the close of the event, and may not stay up more than 120 consecutive days per calendar year in any case.

050(2)(a) limits the sign face to six square feet, caps height at four feet above grade, allows an unlimited number of such signs in front of a property, and requires it to sit entirely outside the roadway, clear of intersection sight distance and the 48-inch pedestrian clear path, and never anchored to trees, utility poles, or other public property. 050(2)(a)(vii).
