Lake Havasu City, AZ Sign Regulations: Political Signs (2026)

Before erecting a political sign, the person or organization responsible must file the name, address, and telephone number of a responsible contact with the City Clerk. Signs cannot be posted earlier than 71 days before a primary election and must be removed within 15 days after the general election; for a candidate who loses in a primary or special election and does not advance, the removal clock instead runs 15 days from that primary or special election instead of waiting for November. Every sign must state the candidate's or campaign committee's name and phone number and must support or oppose an actual candidate or ballot measure.

Size is capped at 16 square feet in residential zoning and 32 square feet elsewhere. Political signs may go in the public right-of-way except inside the commercial tourism, commercial resort, and hotel sign-free zone the city designated under A.R.S. Section 16-1019(F) and mapped in Figure 4.08-3, and they cannot be placed on public property, utility poles, railings, or medians, or anywhere that blocks visibility or violates the Americans with Disabilities Act.
