Waynesville, MO Sign Regulations: Window Signs (2026)

Section 510.080, 'Signs in Commercial and Industrial Areas,' regulates window signs alongside attached, ground-mounted, pole, occupational and directory signs. The window-sign rule itself is short but specific: a window sign may not cover more than 40% of the total window area or door to which it is applied, and, under the section's location-and-height provisions, a window sign may only be attached to the interior of a window or glass door and must be maintained in good repair. That second requirement means an exterior-mounted or peeling window sign is out of compliance even if it stays under the 40% coverage cap.

Section 510.080 also caps most commercial and industrial properties at three signs total, drawn from attached, ground-mounted and pole types, but it specifically excludes window signs (and occupational/directional signs) from counting toward that three-sign limit, so a business can run a full complement of exterior signage and still add window signage without losing a slot.
