Yuma, AZ Sign Regulations: Window Signs (2026)

03 of the Yuma City Code sets out Old Town (OT) District signage in detail, and no sign of any kind goes up without a permit issued by the Zoning Administrator and review by the Design and Historic Review Commission. For window signage specifically, the code draws a line between permanent and temporary treatments. Permanent painted window signs on the first floor are capped at 20% of the window area under subsection (B)(8), while temporary window signs get the same 20% cap on the first floor's glass area but add a time limit: they are restricted to four 30-day periods per calendar year under (B)(9).

Subsection (D)(2) restates the coverage rule for permanent signs in terms of total window and door area visible from the exterior, sets a higher 30% cap per window on the second and third stories, and prohibits window signs altogether above the third level. Because the Old Town District carries its own sign article separate from the citywide Article 17 sign code, these percentage and duration limits apply specifically to OT parcels and are enforced alongside the district's broader Design and Historic Review Commission approval process for all signage.
