Bensalem, PA Soliciting & Door-to-Door: No-Knock Registry (2026)

Township Code § 163-12 lists private-premises rules for every solicitor or peddler: they may not enter a private residence or place of business under false pretenses to sell or solicit, may not remain after the owner or occupant asks them to leave, and under § 163-12(3) may not go onto premises where the owner or occupant has displayed a 'No Soliciting' sign. Hours are separately fixed by § 163-7: no soliciting or peddling before 9:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m. prevailing time in the Township, except that vendors peddling food and beverages meant to be consumed within an hour of purchase from a moving vehicle may work until a half hour before sunset.

Section 163-8 additionally bars hawking, crying goods or using a loudspeaker or horn to announce a solicitor's presence on Township streets or sidewalks, though moving food vendors like ice cream trucks may use a bell or similar device if the Building and Planning Department first approves it as the softest sound that will do the job. Enforcement under § 163-14 requires the Township building and planning department or police department to first advise a violator and give one hour to cease; a repeat violation after an official warning can bring an immediate citation and seizure of goods as security for the fine.
