Glynn County, GA Soliciting & Door-to-Door: Solicitor Permits (2026)

The Door-to-Door Commercial Solicitation Ordinance of Glynn County, adopted in 2014, requires every person who solicits sales, orders, donations, or distributes handbills at a private residence to first apply for a permit through the Finance Department. The application questionnaire covers name, address, date and place of birth, driver's license number, Social Security number, physical description, the organization represented, the product or service offered, and every prior arrest or conviction. 00 permit fee, and the Glynn County Police Department checks the applicant for felony pleas or convictions, or listed misdemeanors, within the prior five years; the Finance Department must notify the applicant within three business days of a decision.

Approved permits carry the holder's photograph, name, and organization, and expire exactly 365 days after issuance. A permit can be denied, suspended, or revoked for disqualifying convictions, and any permit obtained through false statements is void from the date issued. Representatives of registered non-profit or charitable organizations are exempt from the permit requirement once they give the Finance Department proof of exempt status, but they must carry the resulting credentials at all times while soliciting and produce them on demand.
