Irvine, CA Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

The City of Irvine manages park event permits through its Community Services Department and Facility Reservations office. Any organized event using city parks, athletic fields, community centers, open spaces, or picnic shelters requires a Public Facility Permit. Rentable facilities include various rooms, shelters, and outdoor spaces across Irvine community parks. Events at the Orange County Great Park have a separate site rental process managed through the Great Park office. Events requiring food service from outside vendors need a Public Property Permit for each food vendor entering the park, particularly if cooking on-site. Events with amplified sound, alcoholic beverages, temporary structures, or attendance over facility capacity require additional approvals from multiple city departments. The Irvine Police Department reviews events for public safety concerns. Insurance requirements apply based on event type and attendance.
